Jules Verne : A rejtelmes sziget – The Mysterious Islend

Verne, amellett, hogy beleírta műveibe kora legújabb technikai vívmányait, megelőlegezett sok későbbi fejlesztést is, mint például az utazást az űrben vagy a víz alatt.                                          Eredetileg jogot tanult, de hamar az írás felé fordult. Első regénye, az Öt hét léghajón (1862) olyan híressé tette, hogy folytatta a fantasztikus kalandok írását. A rejtelmes sziget két év alatt született és jelent meg, folytatásokban (1874-75), és az egyik leghíresebb műve. Ebben Cyrus alakján keresztül mutatja be, milyen fontos a tudomány a mindennapi életben.

Verne, besides including the latest scientific advances of the time in his novels, anticipated many others, like travelling in space or under water.                                                                                            He studied law but he soon decided , to write. His first novel, Five Weeks in a Balloon (1862), made him so famous that he went on writing fantastic adventure stories. The Mysterious Island was written and published in serial form over two years (1874-75) and is one of the most famous. In it, he shows the importance of science  in our lives, throgh the figure of Cyrus.
